I went to the supermarket, it’s the first time that I go to a big one here (I usually shop in a small store that is on my way back to home). I always make fun of “Mexican” products in foreign countries but this time it wasn’t that funny. I found these “tortillas” products, that, according to a blog “brings a touch of humour to a product which is, after all, fairly mundane”. And the marketing company even won a price for them. I think I have a good sense of humour and could understand the image of the “bandido” to be fun for English people; my problem is that the stereotypical image of the fat, moustached, lazy Mexican, with a cellphone and Hawaiian t-shirt is probably too much. What would Stuart Hall say about this?
